The ASM-SO8 AMC, which provides 80GB of disk-based storage for local logging and content archiving. The FortiGate does not boot from the disk drive, nor does it store configuration or operating system files on it.
The hard drive option provides the added benefit of storing logs and quarantine files locally. This option would also allow customers to store traffic log data which is not available from a memory logging-only configuration. These added features are also available with an external FortiAnalyzer device which provides other benefits such as content logging, forensic analysis, as well as over 300 standard and customizable reports.
